Projects in development at Fitzsimons
The development of a life sciences city is rapidly taking shape at Fitzsimons. During the first four years of fast-paced construction, the University of Colorado has strongly established its health sciences center campus on the site, and 18 biotech companies now operate in Colorado Bioscience Park Aurora. Projects in development

Academic Office West
  A project managed by the UCHSC:

Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes
  A project managed by the UCHSC: Construction is ongoing and completion of this project is estimated to be March 2005. Follow the link to see real- time construction coverage.

Bioscience East:
  A project managed by the FRA:  This renovated facility will be one of six in the Colorado Bioscience Park Aurora.

Bioscience Two:
  A project managed by the FRA:  On completion, this facility will offer 150,000 square feet of additional R&D and laboratory space.

  Building 407 Remodel-Aurora Police Department
  A project managed by the UCHSC: The Phase II of this remodel will occur in the east wing throughout the 1st and 2nd level. Completion is expected in April 2004..

Building 500 Renovation-Phase III and Life Safety Upgrade
  A project managed by the UCHSC:

CeDAR: The Center for Dependency, Addiction and Rehabilitation
  A project managed by the UCHSC: The center will be an 80-bed residential evaluation and treatment facility for young adults and adults afflicted with chronic substance dependency and addiction.

CeDAR will be unique in the Rocky Mountain region. Groundbreaking for the new building at Fitzsimons is planned for late summer 2004.

Central Utility Plant
  A project managed by the UCHSC: Demolition has begun and is scheduled to be complete by the end of the year.

Denison Library
  A project managed by the UCHSC: The new library will serve a vitally important role as a repository of biomedical knowledge and a gateway to electronic healthcare information for the state and region. The library will be a signature building located east of the Red Cross building in a prominent central position on campus as part of the Fitzsimons Commons.

Education I - Humanities and Library
  A project managed by the UCHSC:  This project will go to bid in April/May 2004 and construction to complete

Environmental Health & Safety Building - Phase I & 2
  A project managed by the UCHSC:  

Facility Support Building
  A project managed by the UCHSC:  Currently in design development and construction documents to be ready in August 2004. Construction to begin September 2004 with occupancy in December 2005.

Fitzsimons Commons-
The Square at Fitzsimons Commons Phase I
  A project managed by the FRA: The first phase of a new urban-centered residential/commercial complex is scheduled to open in 2006. The $57 million project, developed by The Pauls Corporation, will emulate a traditional village center.

Fitzsimons Parkway-Formerly known as "Sand Creek Parkway"
  A project managed by the CITY OF AURORA:

Hotel Development
  A project managed by the FRA: Developers have been shortlisted for the upcoming hotel development project to take place on the eastern edge of the site. The link will take you to RFP page where the RFQ and attached documents can be viewed.

Lazarra Center for Oral Health
  A project managed by the UCHSC:  The Lazzara Center will be finished in June 2005 and within the $25 million, 94,000-square-foot facility will be housed an orthodontic program.

Research Complex I
  A project managed by the UCHSC:  The University's first two research towers, totaling 600,00 s.f., will provide opportunities for collaborative discovery at Fitzsimons. The towers will be ready for occupancy in June 2004.

Research Complex II
  A project managed by the UCHSC:  The project has been approved and construction is scheduled for 2005-2007. Building design to begin March 2004.

Research Building 610
  A project managed by the UCHSC:  Renovation of this existing building is scheduled for completion in October 2004.

The Children's Hospital Campus
  A project managed by the THE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL: By 2007, The Children's Hospital will occupy a pediatric health campus at Fitzsimons and move from its present location in Denver.

University of Colorado Hospital Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion Emergency Room -

A project managed by the UCH:  The emergency room facility at the new Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion is slated to be available for patient care in Summer 2004.

University Physicians Inc.
A project managed by the FRA & UPI: The building is completed and occupied as of March 2004.

  The Inpatient Pavilion is open to floor 5, with floors 6-12 scheduled to open in April 2004. The emergency room facilities will open for urgent care in summer 2004.

  The Anschutz Centers for Advanced Medicine--including the Cancer and Outpatient Pavilions--offers world-class ambulatory care.

Bioscience Park Center
A project managed by the FRA: Currently home to biotech, bioscience research and drug discovery companies, this is the flagship facility at Colorado Bioscience Park Aurora.

Colorado State Veterans Home at Fitzsimons
  A project managed by the STATE OF COLORADO: Open for new residents in October 2002, this state-of-the-art facility specializes in the care of the whole person.

Nighthorse Campbell Native Health Building
  A project managed by the UCHSC:  Named for Colorado Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell, this facility offers healthcare services and community outreach to America's native populations.

Preservation and Access Service Center
for Colorado Academic Libraries (PASCAL)
  A project managed by the UCHSC:  PASCAL is a state-of-the-art library archive--slated to hold more than six million volumes at completion.

Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute
  A project managed by the UCHSC:  This facility investigates and treats diseases of the eye and other conditions and ailments affecting vision.
